Keeping old Paris new

I come accross this portico nearly every day and just had to mention it, as it symbolises the efforts of the Mairie de Paris (Paris town hall) in mainting everything historic. Even if everywhere, new buildings are coming up.

This is a beautiful portico that has been preserved in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Around it, a new school has been built. The building in itself is nothing to look at but this doorway speaks the beauty and age of Paris in contrast to what is built behind it!
