New exhibition at the Atelier 40 in Paris
Jean-Marc Quittard, friend and gallery owner but also and maybe mostly gifted painter and artist exhibited his work Thursday night at the opening of his latest show: Lines by Numbers at my favorite Atelier 40 in Paris (see the last post about this funky gallery here).
Jean-Marc’s work, that I have often been lucky to see whilst it is being created from beginning to end, is somehow organic, fluid. It moves with the eye, as if sometimes tortured by the China Ink that has composed it, like tears rolling over parchment.
The Atelier is intimate but also industrial. It’s two floors greet you with well lit space on ground level whilst the subterranean level is a vault full of shaded wonders. A real curiosity in itself.
