New exhibition at the Musuem for Kids in the 1st
I took my son to the new exhibition and Musée en Herbes for kids in Paris, 1 arrondissement.
I went there a few months back for the fabulous Vasarely exhibition, see here, and this time we saw the equally as graphic but maybe more colorful works of Carlos Cruz-Diez.
We went through three rooms where colors were projected from different angles and somehow were made to feel like they were actually made of substance, surrounding us, moving around us. Lines are also projected into some of the spaces, onto people visiting the museum and it’s static objects, rendering the space bizarrely symmetrical and somehow distorted. It’s really worth the surreal visit, for children but for us all too!
Carlos Cruz-Diez has been the expert in optical art since the fifties, along with the famous Vasarely. His work has been shown all over the world, from the United States through to here in France. It’s a clever work, the work of a magician, an illusionist.
Tom loved it and I came out a little disorientated. Clever, how some people can do that to you, without even have met you.
