In Hossegor… what’s on in South Western France!

I have the beach house, as some of you may know. It's where I feel safe and seek refuge in, often, to escape the cities and bustle and broohaha that I have been exposed to for long periods of my life. InHossegor is a wonderful website where you can find everything that is going on, all the places to be at and some fabulous ideas in South West France, between Biarritz and Hossegor. Come see the dunes, the surf, the gorgeous cuisine and the fresh and vibrant local environment. InHossegor InHossegor                       InHossegor Read on...

Rosa Bonheur – my favorite brasserie

Rosa Bonheur Paris In the middle of Le Parc des Buttes Chaumont, in front of where I lived for a while in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, sits a beautiful retro type Guingette (old fashioned bistro, very common to the edges of the Seine and the Marne, places where people would go to dance to local bands, to the music of accordions whilst having dinner or lunch). This place has now become an institution in Paris to all folk, young and old, winter or summer. Two large bars inside make queuing for your beer or coffee a little long but hey, what's a wait when you are in the middle of a hip crowd, listening to some great tunes and looking up at some fancy mismatched decorations filling ceilings and walls. Organics in season for autumn

Don't forget to have a look at my article on seasonal produce wherever you are in the world, it's so important to go with the flow of our seasons! Read on...

Eating seasonal

Banana on toastAvocado on toast I am allll about healthy food and as organic as possible. So eating seasonal and by that I mean eating the products that grow at the time you are actually eating them, is another great way of connecting myself to what I eat and the natural cycle of fruit and vegetables. I really love that, to feel that I am following the seasons... the way our ancestors used to before we discovered canning and freezing. Here is a little graph for you (and for those who don't speak French, a super cool exercise to learn new vocab, just get your dictionaries out and have fun translating the foods!) that I really loved when I found it on a French nutrition website. It's all about dividing what we eat into the seasons when the products grow! Seasonal products France Read on...
