Summer food & quick fruity recipe from Southern France

In summer, we alternate between Paris and our beach house in the South West. It’s a beautiful place here, so much space, fresh atlantic air, pine trees, sand dunes and also, great great products.

As I am spending a few days down here writing and photographing, I got up early this morning to go to the local market of Capbreton. An amazing little place where you will find the freshest and most well presented products.

Today I focused on fruits. We are lucky enough to actually grow a lot of fruit in France and be able to taste what is home grown.

Just look at these beautiful apricots, peaches and prunes from Provence in the South Est of France, they are gorged with the sweetest juices.

Raspberries are my favourite fruit and these ones are local to here, grown in the Landes region, in Chalosse.

Recipe idea:

They were so juicy, I mixed them with some low fat greek yoghurt and sprinkled some raw cane sugar on top.
I left this mixure to rest a couple of hours in my fridge and it was a treat to eat for desert at lunch!

When in France, do check out the small local markets, the French are so proud of them and I can totally understand why!
